Ayres LM200 Loadmaster

The Ayres LM200 Loadmaster was a cargo and multipurpose aircraft of the U.S. manufacturer Ayres Corporation of Albany in the State of Georgia. It was designed as a high-wing monoplane with a driven by a gas turbine six-blade Hamilton Sundstrand - propeller at the bow of the aircraft.

Development

The Ayres LM200 Loadmaster was largely developed for the needs of small package shippers in November 1996. The 54.5 m³ large cargo space, for example, four standard containers ( Unit Load Devices LD3 ) end of the main customers FedEx. The aircraft has been designed technically simple and robust and therefore has only one fixed gear.

The production was in Dothan in the U.S. state of Alabama and in cooperation with the Czech aircraft manufacturer LET - provided Aircraft Industries in the Czech city Kunovice.

The project was dropped before a first flight of the machine in 2001 for lack of funds.
