AZAL PFK

The AZAL PFK Baku is an Azerbaijani football club from the district Şüvəlan capital Baku, which is in competition for FK Baku.

History

The Futsal Club was founded in 1996 as AMMK Baku, in 2004 for the first time as a professional football club in the third league. He managed the direct walkover and increased in 2005 for the first time in the Premyer Liqasi, the highest football league Azerbaijan to. Before the season, the club was renamed to FK Olimpik Baku. 2008 was the club runners and therefore adopted in the 2008 /09 season for the first time to qualify for the UEFA Cup in part. Here they lost the Serbian representatives FK Vojvodina Novi Sad with 1:2 after return game. The association called again for this season to Olimpik - Şüvəlan PFK Baku.

Since the 2010/11 season, the club is sponsored by the airline Azerbaijan Airlines and has thus been renamed AZAL PFK Baku. For international matches in UEFA competitions the club is, however, still referred to under UEFA regulations as Olimpik - Şüvəlan. The season 2010/11 ended the club than in fourth just in front of the two great city rivals FK Inter Baku and FK Baku and thus qualified for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2011/12 where one but with a 2:3 defeat to Hin - and leg against the Belarusian representative FK Minsk retired.
