B channel
A B- channel (English: bearer channel, " support channel") is the ISDN channel for transmitting user data (for example, language ). A B-channel is referred to as a traffic channel therefore. A B- channel bit-transparent and provides a synchronous connection to another subscriber. It is used for direct communication between the participants and not, as the D- channel, the exchange of signaling information between the terminal and exchange.
In Europe, ISDN BRI has two B- channels and one ISDN Primary Rate Interface has at least 16 and up to 30 B - channels.
A B- channel has a data transmission rate of 64 kbit / s ( full duplex).
In a GSM network the traffic channel corresponding to the B-channel.
