Babele

Babel ( grandmother ) or Varful Babel ( Babel Mountain) and Sfinxul din Bucegi Mountains ( Bucegi Sphinx) hot three rock formations in the Bucegi massif of the Southern Carpathians in Romania.

The for loop Dâmboviţa belonging rocks lie on 2216 m in the vicinity of the hut Cabana Babel (2200 m ) south of the summit of Baba Mare (2292 m). They can be reached by cable car from the city Buşteni, walking from the same location by the Jepilor valley or over a ridge from the hut Piatra Arsa. They are also not far from the Cabana Omu and destination and starting point for hiking in the Bucegi mountains.

The "old women " are formed by erosion, especially wind erosion, and have different geological layers differentiated (conglomerates of the Cretaceous period ).
