Babenhausener Bach

Confluence with the Schloßhofbach

The Babenhausen Bach (also known as Babenhauser Bach ) is a 3.9 km long, orographic left tributary of the Schloßhofbaches in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany, which rises in the field of Bielefeld and flows.

Course

The Babenhausen Bach created west of the University of Bielefeld as the confluence of several sources arms within the Dornberger Auenparks. This is primarily planted with oaks and beeches floodplain forest the water flows in a northeasterly direction from leads south past Babenhausen and then traverses the central district Gellershagen, in the right-hand side of the Geller Hagen Bach is recorded.

After crossing the rail Bielefeld in the field of stop - Babenhausen south of the creek enters the Bultkamppark. Within this green corridor of tapering from the Gellershagen Park Grenzbach is first recorded on the right side, a few yards further terminates the Babenhausen Bach then in the Schloßhofbach.

The waters overcomes during its flow path a height difference of 23 meters, thus results in an average bed slope of 5.9 ‰.

Water quality

The water quality of the creek Babenhausen is located, according to the water quality report from 2008, the entire course in a critically loaded state (class II -III).
