Bad Taste (record label)

Smekkleysa (Eng. " bad taste " ), also known as Bad Taste, is an Icelandic music label. The company was founded in 1986 with headquarters in Reykjavík counts by the (first) publication of the works of bands such as The Sugarcubes, múm and Sigur Rós the major labels Islands.

The origins of the label back to the successful sale of postcards, the Ásmundur Jónsson Einar Örn Benediktsson and other musicians from the environment of alternative rock and punk scene Islands operated in 1986 to the financial means for recording the band The Sugarcubes after the dissolution of KUKL round up. The first EP of the band, Einn Mol'á man, appeared in the same year and was the third release on the label.
