BÄ…dki, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Bądki ( German Bündtken ) is a town in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in northeastern Poland. The place belongs to Gmina Zalewo in powiat Iławski.

Geography

Bądki lies in the moraine landscape of the Upper Lands, about three kilometers north of Zalewo. The district of the town is bounded on the north by a wooded area ( the former United Arnsdorfer Forest) and in the south of the brook Selewka ( Mühlengraben ). Also in the south leads the Province Road 519 ( to 1945 National Highway 126 ) through the district, without touching the place Bądki itself.

History

Bündtken was founded by the Teutonic Order as a hook Interest village.

In the 19th century, the present district was divided into a rural community Bündtken and in a Gutsbezirk Bündtken. Both were the District Arnsdorf in the district struck Morag in 1874. As part of local government reform in the Gutsbezirk was incorporated in 1928 in the rural community. The community Bündtken existed in this form until 1945.

After integration into the Polish state Bündtken was renamed Bądki and slammed the newly Gmina Zalewo. The place is now home to a Schulz Office without other associated towns.

Manor house

Johann Martin stubble, the then landowner Bündtken let build a new mansion in neo-Gothic style in 1869. The architectural details were based on the brick Gothic style of the German Teutonic castles. The building was built on an H- shaped plan, with a terrace between the outer wings. To the south of the mansion, a park closes at. The descendants Stoppels lived in the mansion until 1945., This former manor house is rented today and can not be viewed from the inside.
