Bahia Hariri

Bahiya al -Hariri (Arabic بهية الحريري; born June 23, 1952 in Sidon, Lebanon ) is a Lebanese Sunni MPs and sister of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al - Hariri.

In 1970, she graduated to a teacher training college and worked until 1979 as a teacher. From 1979, she stood in front of her brother founded by Hariri Foundation. In 1992 she won those intended for the Sunni seat in the electoral district of Sidon for the first time. 1996, 2000, and after the attack on the convoy of her brother Rafiq on 14 February 2005 in the parliamentary elections in June 2005, she won the seat again.

She currently chairs the Parliamentary Commission for Education and Culture, the National Assembly and is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Immigration.

She is also a Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and Vice-President of the Parliamentary Commission of the Arab Union for concerns of women.

Since 1992, Bahiya al -Hariri is on the board of Lebanese American University.
