Bajót

Bajót ( German: Bajót ) is a municipality in Komárom-Esztergom county in northern Hungary.

Location

The town is located south of the Danube in Komárom-Esztergom county in northern Hungary near the Slovak border.

History

The place was founded by representatives of Bajót from Aragon (Spain ) derived western Hungarian noble family of the Matter Village Forchtensteiner.

Parish Coat of Arms

The seal of Count Paul von Mattersdorf as a royal Hofrichter shows a resist seeing, standing on a rock eagle whose flights are banked by Tatzenkreuzchen. Supposedly, the family should have done this sigil already in Spain. The inscription of this seal is: S.COMITIS.PAULI.IUDICIS.CURIE.REGIS. Therefore, the seal dates from the period 1328-1349. That the seal of appropriate family coat of arms, of which several variants have been handed down, has a flying up of a red rock, golden armored and crowned black eagle in its complete form in the white ( silver ) plate on whose flights are surmounted by broad -ended red cross. The coat of arms of Mattersdorf - Forchtensteiner place today as state coat of arms of Burgenland and the community Bajót in Hungarian Komárom- Esztergom ( Gran Komárom - ) use.
