Bakkushan

Bakkushan is a native of Mannheim band that plays music from the styles of indie, alternative rock with German lyrics provides.

The band's name comes from the Japanese (Japaneseバック シャン) and describes literally " a woman who looks better from the back as from the front ."

History

While her music studies at the Pop Academy Baden- Württemberg in Mannheim founded songwriter Daniel Schmidt together with Christian Kalle, Robert Kerner and Jan Siekmann in June 2007, the band Bakkushan. Already on 28 July 2007, she stood on the stage of the Pop Academy in the entertainment arena of Pop. Home on the computer Daniel Schmidt developed the first EP with five tracks, in order to use as a demo and implement with the band. On the EP to demo versions of the songs Baby you were looking well, Let the sun and me alone and the title Springwut, after the EP was named. Due to the surprising success that the title Springwut was able to record the Internet, the first EP was released under this same title Springwut in the same year. The accompanying music video was made without external investors on their own.

The first tour with nearly 40 performances was also designed independently from the band in 2008 and performed. After winning the Jägermeister Rock: Liga video contests the opportunity arose to produce a professional video for the first title Springwut. By winning the Beck's Festival On Stage Challenge 2008 Bakkushan received an appearance at the Hurricane Festival 2008. Moreover the band spread their music on MySpace. After a live concert an A & R manager of the label EMI approached them and offered them a contract. However Bakkushan initially rejected from because they wanted to further refine their music, and sought the manager to half a year later to complete the recording contract offered.

In 2008 Bakkushan was taken by EMI Virgin Records and the work on the debut album began at the end of the year in Cologne under the direction of producer Daniel Schmidt and Moritz Enders, who previously worked with the Donots, gunslinger, Livingston and Blackmail. In spring 2009 the band in Germany, Austria and Switzerland was seen. With Baby, you look good the first single was released on June 12, 2009. This track was also included on the soundtrack to the film The Crocodiles 2.

The band's debut album, which is already on 11 September 2009 would have to be published, was published on 26 March 2010 and was the band's name as the title. On this day they were represented with their debut album at number 96 on the album charts. It was followed by appearances with Jennifer Rostock and Jupiter Jones. In the spring and summer of 2010 Bakkushan was on tour in Germany and Austria on the go.

Bakkushan represented the state of Baden- Württemberg on October 1, 2010 in Berlin at the Federal Vision Song Contest 2010., Where they presented from the debut album Bakkushan their fourth single Springwut, which appeared on 27 September 2010.
