Baku TV Tower

The Azeri TV Tower is a 1996 finished, 310 -meter high TV tower in the Azerbaijani capital Baku. He has a height of 175 meters, a viewing platform and a revolving restaurant, which opened in 2008. The tower is a landmark and most important landmark of the city and is often subject of various establishing shots.

The plans for the construction of the television tower date back to the 1970s, which were approved by the Council of Ministers of the USSR on the proposal of the Ministry of Communications. The construction was started in 1979 and should be completed in 1985. Only with the return of Heydər Əliyev the works were resumed in 1993 and finally completed in 1996. Since 2004, the tower is illuminated at night and has depends on various occasions its own lighting scheme.
