Balham Lake

The lake got its name in 1964 by the American geologist Parker E. Calkin, who named it after the surrounding valley. This was in turn was by R. W. Balham been named, a geologist of the Commonwealth Trans - Antarctic Expedition, 1957-58 who performed the first biological studies of freshwater resources in the area.
