Ballville Township is one of twelve townships in Sandusky County in the U.S. state of Ohio. In 2000, there were 6395 inhabitants in the nichtinkorporierten parts of the Township. The Ballville Township in Sandusky County is the only Township with this name nationwide.

Geography

The Township is located in the southern part of the county and borders the following neighboring townships:

  • In the North: Sandusky Township
  • In the Northeast: Riley Township
  • In the east: Green Creek Township
  • In the southeast: Adams Township, Seneca County
  • In the South: Pleasant Township, Seneca County
  • In the southwest: Liberty Township, Seneca County
  • In the West: Jackson Township
  • In the Northwest: Washington Township

Parts of the city of Fremont, the county seat of Sandusky County, located in the northern area of ​​the Ballville Township; there is also the census-designated place Ballville.

The Sandusky River flows on its way to Lake Erie by the Ballville Township.

Management

The township is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees. This is each elected in November of odd years for a four year term, with two in the year after the election of the President of the United States and one in the previous year are elected. There is also an elected financial officer who completed a four-year term that begins after the election of officers on April 1 of the year. This election will take place in the year before the election of the U.S. president.
