Ballybofey

Ballybofey ( Irish: Ballybofey ) is a located in the Republic of Ireland in County Donegal town.

Ballybofey lies in a bend of the River Finn, near the Northern Ireland border, and, together with the immediately lying beyond the Finn Stranorlar a twin city ( Twin Towns ). Ballybofey Stranorlar had the Census - 2011 together 4,529 inhabitants.

Ballybofey is the secret sports capital of County Donegal. It is home of the football club Finn Harps. More importantly, Ballybofey has the central facilities of the GAA - the Association of Irish sports of hurling and Gaelic football - for the county ( the Irish Cup is contested by representative teams of each county ).

Just outside on the river are the ruins of Drumboe Castle.
