Rio Baluarte

The Baluarte Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in northern Mexico. The 1142 meter long bridge is part of the highway, which connects the coastal city of Mazatlán on the Pacific with the state of Durango. It leads Baluarte over the 400 meter deep gorge of the Rio and was officially recorded at 402.5 meters height difference between bottom and the road in January 2012 as the highest cable-stayed bridge in the world in the Guinness Book of Records. The construction of the bridge started in 2007 and completed in autumn 2012. As part of the 200-year celebrations of Mexico's independence, the bridge to car traffic has been released. The total investment of roughly two billion pesos (about 116 million euros ). The highest pylon is 169 meters high, the span is 520 meters. About 16 meters wide bridge lead four lanes.
