Banco del Mutuo Soccorso

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Banco short, is an Italian progressive rock band that was founded in 1969 in Rome.

Band History

Vittorio and Gianni Nocenzi, Franco Coletta, Fabrizio Falco and Mario Achilli found in 1968 together for an audition at RCA Records and participated in the following three pieces for a compilation on. With Claudio Falco and Franco Pontecorvi instead Coletta and Achilli then more pieces were added, but long remained unpublished. In 1971 Francesco Di Giacomo was ( born August 22, 1947 † February 21, 2014 ) at the band as a singer.

The first album came out in 1972, the second one followed in the same year. After a mostly English-language compilation on Manticore Records and release of their fourth album, which also appeared in an English version, Banco toured with Gentle Giant. In 1976, Banco also wrote the soundtrack to Luigi Faccinis film Il rosso garofano. The fifth studio album ... di terra was recorded with a symphony orchestra.

In the 1980s, Banco turned more to the mainstream, returned in the 1990s, but back to their roots.
