Bandel ( Bengali: ব্যান্ডেল, Byānḍel ) is a town in Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Here were in the 16th century, Portuguese traders settled and established in 1599 the first Christian church in Bengal. The house was destroyed in 1632 and rebuilt in 1660 along with a monastery.
