Banjo the Woodpile Cat

Banjo Cats Child ( Banjo the Woodpile Cat ) is an animated film by Don Bluth in the year 1979. He was one of the first films of Don Bluth, which aired due to its relatively short running time of 27 minutes, especially on television.

Action

Banjo is a small, red cat, who lives in a barn in Payson with his parents and two sisters. Although he says it never evil, but by his inquisitive curiosity he often into awkward situations. When his father rebukes him particularly hard, Banjo feels unfairly treated and travels as a stowaway with a truck to Salt Lake City. First, he likes it in the big city, but when it's raining and he hide in a dark alley, and reiterated on top of that nothing to eat, he realizes how foolish he has acted. Fortunately, he meets the cute alley cat Crazy Legs who wants to help him with the help of three cats singers Zazu, Melinda and Cleo. During the search of the truck, they must flee, inter alia dogs and take other difficulties in coming. As a banjo one night sleeping sad, Crazy sees the starry sky and pray to God in secret, passing send the truck, not because of him banjos will. This is the next morning really over, so Banjo it really manages to drive home. Once home, he is equally warmly expected from his family.

Production and publication

The film was produced in 1979 by Don Bluth Productions, directed by Don Bluth. The screenplay by Don Bluth and Toby Bluth. The music by Robert F. Brunner and for the cut Sam Horta was responsible.

The film was first shown on 21 December 1979 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. On May 1, 1982, the ABC beaming from the movie on TV, Children's Video Library published it in 1986 on VHS. This was followed by a television broadcast in 1984 in Finland, and in 1998 a video release in Germany and a year later in Italy.
