Bannetze is a district of the municipality Winsen ( Aller) in the Lower Saxony district of Celle, located on the River Aller. The town is crossed by the L 180.

History

Documented the site, first mentioned in 1337. The Erstbezeichnung moisten lead the field names researcher Paul Alpers and Friedrich Barenscheer from this way: " Bennedeshuse, from the personal name Benneid ".

On February 1, 1971 Bannetze was incorporated into the municipality Winsen ( Aller).

Policy

The village has a common Bannetze Ortsrat with the neighboring Thören.

Mayor is Heinrich Leymers (CDU ) from Thören.

Culture and sights

  • The Allerwehr Bannetze is the second dam of Aller below Celle and was built in 1909-1912. The old weir was after nearly 100 years, replaced by a modern inflatable weir. For weir includes a lock system and a fishway.
  • The schoolhouse in Bannetze is a detached two-storey school building with stable cultivation, from the 1910 draft has been published. The construction was carried out in 1911 by Otto Haesler.

Nature

North of the town lies the 815 -acre nature reserve and bird sanctuary Meißendorf Lakes with the Bannetzer Moor, that's because of its rich bird life and breeding as a resting area for migratory birds of national importance.

East of Bannetze, on the opposite bank of the Aller, lies the nature reserve " Hornbosteler pasture ", a 176 -hectare area, which was placed under protection in 2004. One can find some of the well preserved remains of the formerly typical Hutelandschaft. Heck cattle and, since 2009, Przewalski's horses take over the grazing of this part of the Aller.
