Barad (Band)

Barad ( باراد ) was an Iranian rock band from Tehran. She was one of the pioneers of modern Iranian rock music.

History

The history of Barad dates back to the 1990s. 1992 started singer and guitarist Pouya Mahmoudi, drummer Arash Moghadam, guitarist and bassist Aydin Naeeni Kasra Saboktakin with common jam sessions in the House of Naeeni. The musicians combined the elements of classic rock music with influences from Iranian folklore. At this time came with " Biyābān " ( desert ) one of the first songs the band. There followed several years of making music together, in which were new songs. With " Biyābān " they took the end of the 2000s 1990er/Anfang at an audition of the Iranian independent labels Hermes Records part. About the label, they released the singles " Leyva " and " Dar Har Rageh Man" ( In all my veins ). Published in 2003, Hermes debut album " Barad ". In January 2004, the band was involved in a charity concert in aid of the victims of the Bam earthquake. In the published in 2006 compilation " The Rough Guide to the Music of Iran " the band with the title was " Dar Har Rage Man" represented. To around 2006, the band announced their dissolution known singer Mahmoudi began a solo career. Some of the musicians supported the colleagues of Meera in various live performances.
