Barbados National Stadium

The Barbados National Stadium is a football stadium with track and field facility. It was opened in 1970 and is located in the district of Waterford the parish of St. Michael, Barbados. It lies about 4 km northeast of the capital, Bridgetown. The stadium is currently used mostly for football matches.

FIFA classified the stadium in 2006 as a dilapidated one. As recently as 2009, the government could seek a renewal. 2011 estimated the Barbadian government the cost of the renovation to 2 million Barbados dollars. It is not clear to this day, when the work can be carried out. Ryan Brathwaite, 2009 world champion in the 110- meter hurdles, the situation still classified as unacceptable.
