Barbara Kowa

Barbara Kowa ( born March 5, 1973 in Hannover) is an Austrian actress.

Life and career

The young actress was in Hamburg, later trained at the Academy of Dramatic Arts " Ernst Busch" Berlin. As of 2003, played Kowa next to Judy Winter at the Renaissance Theater Berlin one of the leading roles in eight women in the following year she acted under Peter Mussbach in Takemitsu - My Way of Life in the Berlin State Opera, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and at the opera Tokyo. In the Hollywood director Mike Figgis 2004 she attended a workshop in Cologne.

In addition to her theater work Barbara Kowa also graduated appearances in television series such as Lexx - The Dark Zone, SOKO Leipzig or fever, and starred in the feature films Deed Poll, Black Sheep and Alex and the Lion. In 2009, she debuted with the Dreaming Mali documentation as the director.

She is the daughter of the art historian Wieland Schmied and the granddaughter of writer Gertrude of the Brincken.
