Barbeau Peak or Barbeau Peak on Ellesmere Island is 2616 meters above sea level the highest mountain in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. He is also the highest summit of the North American continent east of the Rocky Mountains as well as the British Empire Range and the Arctic Cordillera.

The first ascent was in 1967 the British mountaineer Geoffrey Hattersley -Smith ( 1923-2012 ), in 1981, the mountain was climbed for the second time. In 1969 he was named after the Canadian anthropologist Marius Barbeau.
