The Bard College Berlin, A Liberal Arts University (formerly ECLA European College of Liberal Arts ) is a private, nonprofit university in Berlin, it has set itself the goal of establishing the American concept of liberal arts education in Germany.

It was founded as a " European College of Liberal Arts " in 1999; Founders were Stephan Gutzeit, Anne Sliwka and Olaf Amblank who wanted to create a " campus university for generalists ." Since 2011, Bard College Berlin is part of the U.S. Bard College. In August 2012, Thomas Rommel was appointed Rector and Provost.

  • B. A. in Economics, Politics and Social Thought ( from autumn 2014)
  • The Academy Year
  • The Project Year
  • Begin the program in Berlin
  • The Bard in Berlin program

Language of instruction in all the programs is English.

By letter dated 17 February 2011, the Berlin Senate for Education, Science and Research, the Bard College Berlin recognized as a state institution of higher education. The B. A. in Humanities, the Arts and Social Thought was accredited in fall 2013 ACQUIN.
