Bardai is a small town with 1500 inhabitants in the north- west of the capital of Chad, and in 2008 created Tibesti region.

The first European who reported Bardai, was the German explorer Gustav Nachtigal. He reached Bardai in 1869 by Mursuk from coming, but had to flee because of the hostile attitude of the local population Tubu after a short time.
