Barnim VI, Duke of Pomerania

Barnim VI. (* 1365, † September 22, 1405 in Pütnitz at Ribnitz Damgarten ) was the second son of Wartislaw VI. and from 1394 Duke of Wolgast - Demmin and Greifswald.

After he had initially supported the Hanseatic League, he later took open at privateering against the city alliance part and supported the Vitalienbrüder. He died of the plague in 1405 and was buried in the church Kenzer. When restoration work in the church in December 2010, a tomb was discovered, which could be the grave of the Duke. From his marriage with Veronika von Hohenzollern, the sister of later Elector Frederick I of Brandenburg, come two sons - Wartislaw IX. and Barnim VII - and a daughter - Elizabeth Abbess to Pomerania.
