Barocius (crater)

Barocius is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, southeast of the crater Maurolycus and southwest of Nicolai. The crater is eroded, the interior largely flat. The northwestern edge of the crater is superimposed by the large craters Barocius B.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian mathematician Franciscus Barocius.
