Maurolycus (crater)

Maurolycus is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, east of the crater Stöfler and northwest of Barocius. The rim is partially eroded and wide terraces on. The crater interior is largely flat and has a central mountain on.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the universal scholar Franciscus Maurolicus.
