Baron Monteagle of Brandon

Baron Monteagle of Brandon, in the County of Kerry, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Spring Rice.

The family seat was Mount Trenchard House at Foynes, County Limerick.

Award

The title was created in 1839 for the Whig politician Thomas Spring Rice. This was, among other things in 1834 Secretary of State for War and the Colonies and 1835-1839 Chancellor of the Exchequer.
