Baron Omar Rolf von Ehrenfels

Umar Rolf Baron of honor Rock, born as Rolf Werner Leopold Bernhard of honor Fels ( born April 28, 1901 in Prague, † February 7, 1980 in Neckargemuend ) was an Austrian anthropologist and orientalist.

Rolf honor of rock was the only son of the philosopher Christian von honor rock. His sister, the writer of Imma Bodmershof married in 1925 William of Bodmershof. He married his second wife 's sister Elfriede of Bodmershof that is often mentioned in connection with the works published after 1936 by Lew Nussimbaum under the pseudonym Kurban Said. Honor rock converted to Islam in 1927 in Berlin and took the name Omar. After he was forced to emigrate from Austria in 1938 and Elfriede did not follow him, the childless couple was finally divorced in the late 1940s.

Umar Rolf, who was already in his childhood fascinated by the stories his mother told him about India, went to India, where he remained for 26 years and the Anthropological Institute of the University of Madras built. He became a professor of anthropology at Madras, and author of scientific and Islamic publications. His work dealt with the ethnology of India and the status of women in society.

In recognition of academic achievements and his contribution to Indian society, he was awarded an honorary Indian citizenship. In India, he married the Frenchwoman Mireille Abeille, who was born in 1924 in Marseille. She is the mother of Leela honor rock and currently lives in Lichtenau Castle in the forest district that is owned by the family honor rock.
