Baron Windlesham

Baron Windlesham, Windlesham in the County of of Surrey, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Hennessy.

Award

The title was created in 1937 for Sir George Hennessy, 1st Baronet. This was in the interwar period, a member of the House of Commons and had several posts in the government and the court of the British Royal Family.

The first Baron was in 1927, in the County of Surrey, levied a baronet, of Windlesham. This title belongs to the Baronetage of the United Kingdom.

The third Baron was active as a politician in the House of Lords since the mid- 1970s. When was the automatic seat of hereditary peers abandoned in 1999, he was appointed as Baron Hennessy of Windlesham in the County of Surrey, to the Life Peer.
