Barrington Pheloung

Barrington Somers Pheloung (born 1954 in Sydney ) is an Australian composer. Today he lives in England. His surname is Pheloung Huguenot origin.

Musical work

Best known is his title theme to the television series Inspector Morse. Pheloung also composed film music, so for Hilary and Jackie, for which he was nominated for an Oscar, and Truly Madly Deeply by also occurs shortly. Also for the film Nostradamus (1994) and The Mangler from 1995 he worked as a composer. In 2005, he worked as a composer on Shopgirl and was involved in 2007 in the time we have left as a composer.

He also wrote the soundtrack for the computer games In Cold Blood and Broken Sword I and II

In addition to his work for film and television Barrington writes Pheloung also for the theater. He wrote among other things the music for the West End pieces Made in Bangkok by Anthony Minghella and After the Fall by Arthur Miller. He also composed for the London Contemporary Dance Theatre and for events such as the opening of the Millennium Dome.
