Barry Gifford

Barry Gifford ( born October 18, 1946 in Chicago) is an American author and screenwriter. He achieved fame primarily for his novel series Sailor and Lula. The first part was in 1990 under the title Wild at Heart - The Story of Sailor and Lula by David Lynch filmed.

Life

Gifford was born the son of a Jew and a Catholic Irish in Chicago. After college, he joined the Air Force Reserves. Gifford decided on a writing career, after he had flirted for a time with a career in baseball.

It was followed by numerous novels, collections of poetry and short stories as well as property and screenplays.
