Barry Hearn

Barry Hearn ( born 1949 in Dagenham, Essex ) is an English sports promoter and functionary.

Hearn is since 1995 Chairman of the football club Leyton Orient. He took over the club after the previous president Tony Wood brought the club in serious financial difficulties. Since 2006, the club plays in the Football League One, the third- highest division in England. His company Matchroom Sport is also a sponsor of the club stadium.

In December 2009, he broke Sir Rodney Walker as chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, the World Association for Snooker and English Billiards, from. With his company Matchroom Sport Hearn was promoting previously numerous events in various sports. First, he focused on snooker and boxing; for a long time but also includes snooker, bowling, golf, fishing, darts, bowls and poker to do so. Since January 2013 Hearn promotes table tennis.
