Barry Markus

Dutch Champion at Madison 2011

Barry Markus ( born July 17, 1991, Amsterdam) is a Dutch track and road racing cyclist.

Barry Markus was established in 2006 in the youth class Dutch champion in the time trial and he won a stage at the Critérium des Jeunes Européens. The next year he successfully defended his title. In the junior class won the 2008 Mark two stages in the Driedaagse van Axel and a portion of the Westbrabantse Pijl. On the train he was Dutch champion in keirin and in Madison. In 2009 he won a stage in Vlaams- Brabant Pijl Korbeek -Lo and at the Trofeo Karlberg. At the Junior European Championships he won the silver medal in the road race.

2010 and 2011 drove Markus for Rabobank Continental, the farm team of the ProTeamsRabobank. In 2012, he received in his first contract with a ProTeam, Vacansoleil - DCM. For the 2014 season he will go to the team Belkin.

His younger sister Kelly Martin is also cyclist.
