Barry Morgan

Barry Cennydd Morgan ( born 1947 in Neath, Glamorgan ) is since 2003 the Archbishop of Wales, and thus head of the Church in Wales.

Morgan was educated at University College London and Selwyn College, Cambridge. After his ordination in 1973, he became a minister and later a lecturer in theology. Before 1999 he became Bishop of Llandaff, since 1993 was Bishop of Bangor. Since 2006 he has been Pro- Chancellor of the University of Wales.

In September 2006, he opposed plans by the British government for the renewal of the Trident nuclear missile system.
