Barry University

The Barry University is a private Roman Catholic University in Miami Shores, a suburb of Miami in the U.S. state of Florida.
History
The university was established in 1940 initially as Barry College for Women founded by Patrick Barry, Bishop of St. Augustine, and Mother Mary Gerald Barry, Prioress General of the Dominican Order of the Adrian Dominican Sisters ( Suore Domenicane della Congregazione del Santo Rosario ) in Adrian, Michigan. On November 13, 1981, Barry College was transformed into today's Barry University.
University
The 36- acre main campus is located in Miami Shores, Florida; Offices in Orlando ( Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law ) and Saint Petersburg ( Physician Assistant Program ). The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is considered the leading Catholic library in the USA. Central is the Cor Jesus Chapel.
