Bart Preneel

Bart Preneel (* 1963) is a Belgian cryptographer and professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is president of the International Association for Cryptologic Research. Among his significant contributions in the area of ​​symmetric cryptography include the co-development of Miyaguchi - Preneel variant for the construction of hash functions based on block ciphers, the hash function RIPEMD- 160 and the stream cipher Trivium.
