Bartolomeo di Breganze

Bartolomeo di Breganze (* 1200, † 1270) was Bishop of Vicenza and founder of the Order of Friars Gaudenti.

He came from the family of the Counts of Breganze. He studied in Padua and then joined the St. Dominic, the founder of Domonikanerordens to. He preached in Lombardy and the Romagna and founded the Brotherhood of the " Frati Gaudenti ". In 1256 he was elected bishop of Vicenza. He came into conflict with Ezzelino from Romano and had to go into exile. The Pope then employed him as legate to England and France.
