Bashō (crater)

Bash is an impact crater on the planet Mercury.

Is named the crater after the Japanese poet Matsuo Bashō and philosopher ( 1644-1694 ). Although Basho has only about eighty kilometers in diameter, can be seen from a great height it already. A bright ray system makes it an easily identifiable object on the surface. In addition to the long, light rays have photos of Mariner 10 showed an interesting yard of dark material, which never covered the crater floor.
