Baskerville

The Baskerville is a font that was created as a transitional Antiqua Baroque, 1754.

The concept of transitional Antiqua describes the position of the baroque fonts as transition between the Renaissance and the classical Antiquen font styles. Developed by John Baskerville (1706-1775) was writing as a technical milestone and an important reference for the later classicists. Nevertheless, it took time for aesthetic reasons, often before the Caslon, which is also known as the English Antiqua par excellence. Even to lead turnaround times there have been numerous versions of the Baskervilles.
