Bath Abbey

The Bath Abbey (English Bath Abbey ) is an Anglican parish church in Bath, England, which was once the great church of a monastery. It was completed in 1156. The Bath Abbey was badly damaged in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 16th century. In the years 1574 to 1611 the church was restored and later used as the parish church of Bath. Further restorations were carried out in the 1860s. Between 1996-97 the abbey church received a new Klais organ. In 1999, the 500th anniversary of the church was celebrated.

The Abbey is 67 m long and 22 m wide, including the aisles. The nave is 24 m and the tower 49 m high. The large window above the high altar depicts 56 scenes from the life of Jesus Christ.

Organ

In 1997 a new organ was created using historical register of the company Johannes Klais / Bonn. The 62 registers are spread over four manuals and pedal. The key action is mechanical, the electrical stop action. It has the following disposition:
