Battle of Demetritzes

The Battle of Demetritzes in 1185 was between the Byzantine Empire and the Normans of the Kingdom of Sicily, who had recently the second most important of the Byzantine Empire, Thessaloniki looted discharged. The Norman army advanced now facing east and met the Byzantine army under the command of Alexios Branas near Demetritzes (today Sidirokastro ).
