Bauchklang

Bauchklang is a Lower Austrian beatboxing band.

1996 was formed the vocal -groove Project of the original six St. Pölten as a result of a common school musical production of Jesus Christ Superstar BRG / BORG St. Pölten headed Erich Schwab (see former members). Since 2006, the band consists of five members after several line-up changes. They produce their sound ( Hip Hop, Reggae, Trance, Techno, Drum and Bass and Ambient) without instruments - using only the power of her voice, her belly and her diaphragm.

History

Within the first five years of its existence Bauchklang developed a sound aesthetic which is difficult with the conventional a cappella genre to assign. 2001 manifested the band with the self-definition of "Vocal Groove Project " offers a new urban a cappella style, which was inspired by the electronic music in the club context convince.

Bauchklang published in 2001 the debut album Jamzero. In 2002, she was with two " Amadeus Awards" for " Best Album " and awarded " FM4 Alternative Act ". After a performance at the festival "Trans Musicales " (2001) in Rennes (France) Bauchklang was invited to numerous European festivals. 2002 landed the "Vocal Groove Project" for the first time in Canada, where they had among other things an appearance at the prestigious Montreal Jazz Festival.

In 2005 their second album, Many People was published, with whom she toured Europe and Canada. 2008 were in Mumbai (India) can be heard live for the first time, where in 2009 from the recording of three more concerts in the club " Bluefrog " the album Live in Mumbai was Bauchklang. The following year, abdominal tone third studio album Signs was released, at which the group collaborated with artists such as the Spoken Word icon Ursula Rucker or even with the French MC Rouda and with the French Human beatboxer Tez. 2010, the band won an award with two other " Amadeus Awards" in the categories " Best Live Act " and " alternative".

According to the 2011 published self-published EP Le Mans, confident in the abdominal sound with minimal techno, the group founded in July 2012, her own label " Bauchklang Records " on which she released in late September of that same year their EP Ray. Always been inclined towards electronic dance music, Bauchklang have realized with Ray the desire for fusion of vocal and studio effects: The Techno pioneer Patrick Pulsinger, who was also responsible for production of Elektro Guzzi, Pamelia Kurstin or DJ Hell, produced Ray, the " Vorankünder " published in January 2013 for the new album.
