Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art
The Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art, the counterpart of the 1842 -founded the Prussian Order Pour le Mérite, is today the highest award of the Free State of Bavaria and has been founded on 28 November 1853 by King Maximilian II of Bavaria.
