Bay View is an administratively belonging to Napier town in New Zealand's Hawke's Bay region in the east of the North Island of New Zealand.

Bay View is located on State Highway 2, nine kilometers away from the city center of Napier, whose northern coastal suburb of Westshore south adjoins Bay View. The SH5 (Thermal Explorer Highway) branches off to the south of Bay View from inland.

North of the village flows the River Esk in the belonging to the Pacific Hawke Bay. The Hawke's Bay Airport is located south of Bay View.

The area was formerly known under the name " Petane " and was taken in the early 1860s by Māori to attack the intended Napier.
