Bayugan

City of Bayugan is a Philippine city in the province of Agusan del Sur.

Bayugan is a transportation hub for the eastern part of the island of Mindanao. In the area of the city lies the nature park Andanan Watershed Forest Reserve.

Elevation to city

With the signing of Republic Act No.. 9405 on 23 March 2007 by the Philippine President Arroyo and the adoption of Republic Act No.. 9405 in a referendum by the people of Bayugan on 22 June 2007, Bayugan became a town. In the referendum voted 13,907 voters for the collection to the city and 108 against. Bayugan is the first city in the province of Agusan del Sur. The city is officially known as the City of Bayugan.
