Bear Island (Antarctica)

, Also called the Bear Iceland Isla Teniente González, is a rocky and mostly ice-covered island in the Marguerite Bay near the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula.
The 25 km ² island was discovered in 1947 probably at a British Antarctic Expedition (British Antarctic Survey ). The island name dates back to the American expedition ship USS Bear.
