The BearingPoint Holding B.V. is an independent management and technology consulting firm and one of Europe 's leading management and technology consulting firms. Since a management buyout in August 2009, the company is owned by its more than 120 partners in Europe. BearingPoint employs approximately 3,500 employees in 16 countries.

Group Profile

The headquarters of the holding companies of BearingPoint is Amsterdam. In Germany BearingPoint is at eight locations: Frankfurt am Main (headquarters), Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, Stuttgart and Walldorf ( SAP Solution Center). In Switzerland, BearingPoint has a presence in Zurich and Geneva. In Austria there are two locations in Vienna ( BearingPoint BearingPoint Infonova ) and Unterpremstätten / Graz (Bearing Infonova ).

Divisions

The divisions are divided into three so-called " business units ": Commercial Services ( CS), Financial Services ( FS) and Public Services ( PS). This structure is consistent across all geographic regions and not specific to the German BearingPoint. BearingPoint has positioned itself since 2010 under the "Business Consulting" and here combined Management Consulting and Technology Consulting. This includes strategy making, process management, customer relationship management, supply chain management, financial management, solutions in security and technology, infrastructure and integration.

Subsidiaries

One of the subsidiaries of BearingPoint is INFONOVA. Founded Infonova in Austria in 1989. INFONOVA offers products and services in IP Telephony, Operational Support Systems (OSS ) and Business Support Systems ( BSS), Internet infrastructure technology, network management, Internet content security, Interactive TV & Digital Video Broadcasting, and technology consulting and training. BearingPoint Software Solutions is another subsidiary of BearingPoint and focuses on the development, maintenance and implementation of software products. The most well known software product ABACUS / DaVinci, a leading software solution for regulatory reporting in Germany and Luxembourg.

History

From the year 1997, the separation of the division " KPMG Consulting" from the parent company KPMG began. On 31 January 2000, the American KPMG Consulting LLC to a separate company that eventually went as KPMG Consulting, Inc. at the New York Stock Exchange on February 8, 2001. In the years 2001 and 2002, KPMG Consulting took, Inc., the majority of the international consulting company KPMG. Some companies went to ATOS Origin or remained at KPMG.

October 2, 2002, the company operates under the name " BearingPoint ". The trading was done from the next day under the name of "BE". In the aftermath of the collapse of Arthur Andersen, BearingPoint took over in different countries whose advice parts.

In March 2005, Harry You, former CFO of Oracle and former CFO of Accenture, operational chief of BearingPoint. In January 2006, Peter Mockler part of BearingPoint Management Team. He leads BearingPoint EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and is Chairman of the German management boards.

In 2007, BearingPoint by a large-scale relaunch its brand. For this year, more than 400 ( Europe 1200 ) were conducted recruitment in Germany alone. On 3 December 2007 replaced Edwin Harbach Harry You and became CEO.

On February 18, 2009 must BearingPoint, Inc., the opening of insolvency proceedings under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy laws. In the current Lünendonk List BearingPoint stood by Bain & Company with a turnover 207 million euros and 1,200 employees (figures for Germany ) in eleventh place.

Name

The word pair " BearingPoint " comes originally from the navigation and literally means " bearing point " or " course direction." The name should reflect that BearingPoint is a business partner that helps its clients to identify directions and get results for long-term success.

Criticism

Linus Neumann criticized in 2013 at the 30c3 congress simultaneous consulting activities of BearingPoint for the competing products De-Mail the federal government and e- mail letter of Deutsche Post as well as in the formulation of this relevant legal texts.
