Beauly Firth

The Beauly Firth is a bay at the head of the seas arm Moray Firth in the Scottish Highland region. It extends about 11 km in the east-west direction into the land, and in this case has a maximum width of about 3 km along. At its head is the town of Beauly, while Inverness is at the dawn of the bay.

In Beauly Beauly river of the same coming from the west flows into the Beauly Firth. Another inlet forms of Ness, which opens in Inverness. Also, the Caledonian Canal in Inverness ends in Beauly Firth. The Black Isle peninsula forms the northern shore of the bay. There is opposite from Inverness North Kessock with the only other major banks Urbanisation. Built 1976-1982 Kessock Bridge connects the two towns. It leads to the highway A9 one of the most important roads in the Highlands. Previously there was a ferry at this point.
